Quality Engineer (Staff)

Reporting to the Quality Manger, the Quality Engineer acts as the primary contact at the dedicated cell for all “Zero Defect” activities. This is a “hands-on” role, and the QE will identify and drive key problem-solving projects to improve first pass yield, rework and scrap issues. The QE will ensure the day to day project execution & coordination at the manufacturing site. Support the New Product Introduction (NPI), across the responsible departments and advise to the interdisciplinary team. Partially, aid in the maintenance and support of quality standards across the relevant department and, as appropriate, implement and communicate new standards, and requirements.

Monitor the development process throughout its entire cycle (e.g., performing internal audits and reviews) comparing the results with the processes and standards defined in the organisation, making sure the manufacturing department is doing the right things, the right way, the first time, and with “Zero Defect” mentality.

Key Result Areas:

  • Previous experience within a similar role in precision Aerospace manufacturing company (ideally CNC milling, turning, and precision grinding);

  • Good technical engineering knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings;

  • Profound knowledge of how to Perform Risk Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Failure Analysis;

  • Have a basic understanding of core “Zero Defect” engineering tools (i.e. DFMEA, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, APQP, and 8D);

  • Develop a ”Zero Defect” Quality Standard to eliminate defects;

  • Understanding of crucial quality standards such as AS/EN 9100 and NADCAP’s;

  • Develop an Integrated Management Procedure to achieve on-going compliance to

  • AS/EN9100;

  • Participation in the development and maintenance Corrective Action / Preventive Action, Non-Conformance Reports, Checklists, SOPs and Work Instructions;

  • Support the cross-functional team with the NPI process and reviewing continuous improvement for quality plans to achieve mature products;

  • Ensure quality assurance for the new and existing product through audits, First Article Inspection, Control Plans, and Change Control Process Management;

  • To work with the site engineering and manufacturing staff on quality assurance requirements regarding continuous improvement plans and projects;

  • Support quality assurance agreements with suppliers;

  • Perform the internal audits and coordinate if any issues with a process owner;

  • Support the domestic supply chain and external customer interfaces for all matters related to quality.
