Project Manager

Salary: Dependent on experience

Reporting to the Head of Programmes and depending on the project, responsibilities can cover all aspects of the project life cycle from concept definition to handover and closure.

Typical responsibilities will include:
• Defining and agreeing project scope with the customer
• Stakeholder management (internal and external)
• Concise project status reporting
• Agreeing project objectives
• Representing the organisation's interests
• Identifying and mitigating risks
• Organising the project resources in and across project
• Managing tooling budgets
• Reporting bid versus actual project performance
• Making sure the quality standards are met
• Using IT or other systems to keep track of people and project progress
• Managing specialists and sub-contractors
• Monitoring sub-contractors to ensure guidelines are maintained
• Overseeing the project accounting, costing and billing
• Evaluating the success of the project against its benchmarking and sharing lessons or best practice with other organisations or project managers

Supported by excellent working communication skills, the Project Manager should be/have:

• Numeracy skills and commercial awareness
• Fully conversant with MS Project

Education and/or qualifications (essential and desirable)
Essential:
• A proven track record of delivering projects in a manufacturing and/or engineering environment with a minimum of 5 years previous project management experience
Desirable:
• Degree or post graduate diploma in an engineering discipline
• APMP Project Management or Prince2 Qualification
